Your coffee table just got a whole lot more interesting, thanks to fashion icon Marc Jacob’s upcoming book detailing his colourful career. Titled Marc Jacobs Illustrated, work on the skinny monograph began in 2016, with Jacobs requesting long-time friend and former creative director of U.S. Vogue Grace Coddington to helm the illustrations for his book. Coddington drew his most memorable looks from 50 of his collections, dating from his infamous Grunge collection for Perry Ellis to the latest spring 2019 looks. The book’s introduction is also penned by one of Jacobs’ muse Sofia Coppola and features commentary by the titular designer himself summarised by the occasional footnote and fun facts on his work in pop culture. The tome is available from May 22 and coincides with the icon’s 30th anniversary in fashion.
