You’ve probably seen a Clé de Cartier parading on the wrist of many discerning gents and ladies these days. And rightfully so. It’s the new classic from the Swiss watchmaker who has introduced several other soiree-savvy wristwatches that we didn’t even know we needed in the first place such as the Tank, Ballon Bleu, and Santos, just to name a few. The Clé de Cartier is what we find ourselves needing. It is only one of a few tonneau-shaped series under the Parisian luxury house’s massive umbrella of time tickers, including the Roadster and Tonneau. But what makes this a deserving addition to your collection? This is the first time that Cartier has completely revised the blueprint of their signature blue sapphire cabochon crown – yes, even the minute detail is a big deal here. Rather than the standard nut- or spur-shaped variety, the crown has been fashioned into a slightly larger rectangular block, making it easier for those with shorter finger nails to manoeuvre (also for those who don’t want to chip their manicures).
