Jerry Lorenzo of Fear of God and Alessandro Sartori of Ermenegildo Zegna

Jerry Lorenzo of Fear of God will be the first to tell you that he doesn’t wear suits. But thankfully, this isn’t what his upmarket streetwear label’s upcoming collab with tailoring kingpin Ermenegildo Zegna is about. It’s essentially about the right vibe. The surprising partnership – which Zegna doesn’t partake in very often – is slated to hit stores this September with its official preview to take place at Paris Fashion Week on March 2. Hoping to bridge the gap between streetwear and strict tailoring, Lorenzo’s ability to know what the cool crowd wants in their personal wardrobe bodes well in Zegna’s favour. Think of the fashion tsunami he created just over four years ago when he helped to develop Justin Bieber’s highly successful Purpose merch line before going on to helm black market-prized releases in collaboration with Nike, Vans, and even Nipsey Hussle’s Marathon Clothing Store. But while these releases have generated fanfare of its own, his work with Zegna is – with all due respect – in a different league. Sure, there will be suits, coats, and even beautiful leather accessories. But most importantly, they will be rendered with that Fear of God-level of sexy. Watch this space.
