#WFH has been your harsh reality and being on a serious rotation of sweats is no laughing matter. And we know what you’re thinking even if you’re dressed in your Sunday best in the crib: Is it even fashion if no one sees it? Keep your chin up because your time of being seen in the great outdoors is coming soon which means being prepped for those glorious moments under the sun should be on your current agenda. That said, Loewe understands this need for optimism with the unveiling of its fourth capsule collection inspired by the now defunct hippie hotspot Paula’s Ibiza – which designer Jonathan Anderson has a personal affection for. “I wanted to capture the breezy spirit of the Balearics and celebrate a moment in time that saw the hedonism of these islands expand to influence subcultures across the world. There is an escapism in rave culture, which germinated here, that I find very timely and I wanted to explore,” he says. Anderson channelled this idea of “letting go” through energetic colours and joyful patterns that are partly derived from rave music and clubwear then mixed with Paula’s iconic prints created by founders Armin Heinemann and Stuart Rudnick. In addition, Loewe will be donating 40 euros to educational projects for every product sold in the Paula’s Ibiza fashion collection between April and August 2020.
