We’ve to admit that due to Supreme’s everything-but-the-kitchen-sink approach to collabs in recent times, its announcement that revered Japanese designer Yohji Yamamoto’s inclusion into that famed bracket of people-we-have-worked-with probably doesn’t have the same pop as it would have gotten during those pre-LV collab days. But that’s not to say that Yohji Yamamoto is incapable of commanding attention amongst the most discerning in fashion. The last time we checked, the 76-year-old master of the avant-garde and notorious user of the black palette is still named Yohji Yamamoto – and that’s good enough for us. That said, Supreme and Yamamoto’s tie-up shouldn’t be taken lightly either. If your hunch is anything to go by, this capsule collection is expected to be part of fashion grails for years to come. There are several coveted pieces to look out for if you’re finger’s on the mouse-clicking trigger come D-Day such as the leather work jackets, parkas, wool suits, and sweatshirts. Apart from the dual logo placements which are ought to sell-out faster than you can verbally spell Yamamoto’s name backwards, there are the noticeable artworks created by Peter Saville, Chito, and Yuuka Asakura for you to drop knowledge on. The collab is slated to drop on September 17.
