We aren’t certain what 2021 holds in terms of our fashion buys. But one thing’s for sure, designers are hoping you’re not expanding on your silk PJs game any time soon. The truth is, it’s been awhile since you’ve invested in some solid cocktail hour dresses with the last look at such a genre being the final days of 2019, probably. The update on that front is that designers haven’t given up hope that you’ve something worth celebrating come mid of next year. Enter bodycon dress OG Hervé Léger, whose line of bandage dresses has celebrated the female form for a good part of the last three decades. Now, creative director Christian Juul Nielsen is hoping to put a current world spin for pre-fall 2021 by inviting real-life babe Julia Restoin Roitfeld – daughter of Carine Roitfeld and Christian Restoin – to curate its signature bodycons and jumpsuits (there’s even some sexy tailoring thrown in to the mix). What is perhaps strikingly different might not be obvious to the naked eye. The collection has sustainability in mind and focuses on used recycled yarns and best practices to achieve, a characteristic that Restoin Roitfeld was adamant in realising. The collection will only be available from May which means you’ve got plenty of time to make some space in your closet.
