You probably didn’t know that Russell Athletic invented the sweatshirt nearly a century ago thanks to a college football quarterback named Benjamin Russell Jr. He wanted to find an alternative for his wool jerseys that were often itchy and uncomfortable. He brought this idea of an all-cotton crewneck jersey to his father and the next thing we knew a wardrobe staple was born. Today, Russell Athletic is looking to move up a rung, having been largely dormant on the global scene for far longer than its rep deserves. It has strung together a collaboration with Boss in the hopes of creating elevated casualwear that satisfies today’s WFH experience. What you can expect is a range that you won’t look shabby in whether you’re on a video call, walking the dog or even making a last minute trip to the office. And yes, there’s even a pink basketball to content with.
