Even if you’re a self-professed tailoring savant, there will come a time when the swanky suit goes to the laundromat and the lavish leather lace-ups head back onto the racks. No one lives in a suit forever (except maybe for Daniel Craig who probably should because we can’t imagine otherwise). And if this pandemic has taught us anything about our personal style, it’s that any form of rigidity ought to take a backseat for the time being. While all of these sounds like men everywhere are dropping style points quicker than the Grammys losing street cred, fashion houses like Dior are engineering high-end casualwear swerves that even the layman can vibe with. Enter the Atlas sandals designed by Kim Jones for Dior. These are not your Tevas so don’t go muddying them at a team building exercise out in the woods. Jones has designed these with multiple details that even sneakerheads would obsess about coupled with a high level of finesse that the Parisian fashion house is known for. Some details include the sandals’ soles which are handmade with woven rope that ignites memories of the beach as well as the sides that feature a mesh panel that resembles an air vent of sorts. There are also multiple buckles in place to ensure these sandals are spot on with the fit, even going as far to cover those moments if you turn swole. Now, if you’re wondering about the flex, the fashion house has planted subtle nods to its storied name on each of the material it uses for the sandals, namely the version in suede with neoprene and the on-point Dior Oblique canvas with suede. Wear these with socks like the cool kids do or even don’t; either way you might finally be getting compliments for wearing… sandals.
