Glenn Martens is the next guest designer for Jean Paul Gaultier's couture showing
1/1

Glenn Martens is hot property. The Belgian designer, who has on-going creative stakes in Y/Project and Diesel, has now been added onto the couture roster courtesy of Jean Paul Gaultier. Following Sacai’s Chitose Abe’s uber successful couture debut under the JPG name just over the summer (the presentation met with a six month-long delay due to the pandemic), the Belgian designer is hoping to capture the same energy and excitement surrounding the legendary French couturier’s new fashion strategy of having guest collaborators enter the exclusive couture circuit through the invitation of designing a special collection under his label. Martens will find this moment a rather nostalgic one as he started as a designer for the couturier in his final year at The Royal Academy of Fine Arts, Antwerp. Oh, what a difference 13 years make. The collection is slated to show in January next year. And fingers crossed that there will be no delays this time around.
