Ask any fashion insider about their June shopping plans and there’s a high chance that Jacquemus’ first-ever collab with Nike is a must-buy. On June 28, Simon Porte Jacquemus will be launching a collection of ready-to-wear with the Swoosh, along with a couple of Air Humara – his fave footwear – that will likely fly off the shelves. After plenty of speculation as to what these trail-friendly footwear would look like with the Jacquemus co-sign, the designer has given us a first glimpse of the pair, one in a beige and grey colourway as well as another in in brown and black. Both shoes feature suede panelling and a special lace detail that appears to thread around the footwear from the tongue to the upper and heel tab. Gone are the external stitch work that is a signature of the model which now boasts a cleaner profile that makes this more of a natural choice for the urban terrain than anything Bear Grylls has in mind. And that thumbnail-sized hardware version of the Swoosh? That’s golden in our books.
