It’s a good time if your name’s Louis. That’s because Louis Vuitton just marked another new porcelain cup you’d be downing your fresh morning brew from. An offshoot of a Virgil Abloh design for Louis Vuitton menswear circa fall-winter 2021, this version carries on from he left off with another take on the cowhide leather sleeve that wraps the reusable cup. This time around, feminine florals make a cameo instead of the monogram, a coordinated showing of the LV Flowers Tapestry motif seen in the fall-winter 2022 ready-to-wear collection. Replicating a barista’s familiar scribbling of the customer’s name on the beverage, Abloh’s now-notorious quotation marks also feature here with the name Louis marking the surface, a handwriting style that likely stems from the late designer’s actual penmanship. And if you’re pining for that visible LV flex, simply remove the sleeve to show-off an embossed logo. Like we said, it’s a good time to be a Louis or a Lou-ee.
