Many might attribute the sudden craze over hot pink to Barbie. But let’s be honest, the unofficial colour of the moment is likely thanks to the re-emergence of Blackpink on your radar. So is it time we call it what it is: Blinkcore? Coupled by the fact that we’re inching closer to Breast Cancer Awareness month, there’s likely going to be plenty of pink in your rotation if it wasn’t already on the cards. One fashion label that is certainly not shy about placing this colour in its catalogue is Jacquemus. After all, not many on Instagram can forget that viral moment in 2019 when Simon Porte Jacquemus erected a lengthy pink runway in the middle of a lavender field in Provence to showcase his spring-summer 2020 wares. And if you’re still dreaming of that runway show, the newlywed designer hopes the latest colourway drop of his very own Air Humaras with Nike is a neat consolation. For the uninitiated, the first drop of these trail-friendly footwear in June flew off the shelves. Now, the footwear is wrapped in hot pink with elevated material choices that hints these were made for the urban trails in mind than the muddy ones of the forest. The metallic gold Swoosh is still present along with suede panelling and a special off-white lace detail that threads around the footwear from the tongue to the upper and heel tab. Keep your eyes peeled on the drop date.
