Some insiders will tell you that getting a front row seat at a high-profile fashion show is as coveted as a reservation at any Ferran Adrià dining venue. Well, they might have a point. Now, Matthieu Blazy is giving those who missed out on his summer 2023 presentation at the recent Milan Fashion Week for Bottega Veneta a chance to cop a seat, quite literally. The runway set of the summer 2023 show was decorated with a snaking line of custom chairs by Italian architect Gaetano Pesce. While these resin chairs might appear like nothing more than comfy seats to casuals, Bottega Veneta is now hawking these prized seats for a pretty penny. Called Come Stai? (which means how are you?), each one is hand-moulded and unique as Pesce is known for remixing a variety of materials and radical shapes to redefine what we call a seating arrangement. He designed these chairs with a mixture of bright hues as a reference to diversity and being an original thinker. The price for each fixture ranges from US$6,500 to US$10,900. There will be a few hundred of these for sale and you can even pick a specific numbered edition. If you have deep enough pockets for a row of these, you might even be able to replicate a summer 2023 show in your private space.
