Did you expect any other name to be minting a watch in King Charles III's honour? Probably but it won't be as legit as this production. Bremont's role in the Kingsman movie – it made mechanical watches for its fictional super spies – is already an unofficial nod of approval if you're asking royalists. (Of course, its longstanding relationship with the British Armed Forces counts too.) Prior to Coronation Day on May 6, the British watchmaker released a special self-winding MBII timepiece to mark this historical occasion. And although those who are familiar with the watchmaker's work can attest that there are only minor changes here to this 43mm stainless steel timepiece, namely the seconds hand outlined in a royal purple hue, there is still a cool add-on reserved for the owner. The closed case back features an engraving of the coronation emblem which was designed by Jony Ive, Apple's former chief design officer. We don't expect the 150 pieces made for this series (50 with a white dial and 100 in black) to remain owner-less for long.
