Well, it's official, Barbie is a Chanel gal too. Don't just take our word for it, Margot Robbie has confirmed our suspicions. If you haven't caught the biggest film release of 2023 – Barbie, not Oppenheimer – then you're missing out big time on this pop culture and fashion moment. Robbie stars as the lead in this film about the iconic doll and what we didn't know until now was that the Barbiecore trend that has been making its rounds since last year is actually a Chanel wardrobe in disguise. According to Robbie, she got a chance to wear some of the more iconic fits from the Chanel archives for the title character: “I got to wear some incredible outfits that Claudia Schiffer herself, a kind of a real life Barbie, wore. One of the archival suits that I wore had a little label saying 'Claudia' on it.” She also talked about the shared love on-set for the Parisian fashion house's wares, in particular a pink heart-shaped bag, that many wanted a chance to hold when the cameras weren't running.
