Earlier this year, collage artist Kosuke Kawamura shredded actual dollar bills and housed them inside a Be@rbrick figurine. Don't ask us about the motivations but it created quite a stir for said figurine. Now, he has returned to tackle another streetwear-friendly bear and then some with his subversive style of collaging. Undercover's bear motif is just one of a few graphics that the Japanese collage artist has applied his “shredder collage” technique on in this collab with the Jun Takahashi-led label. He has already used this to great effect in the fashion space having created glitch-like graphics for Uniqlo and BAPE in 2023. What is obviously different about these Undercover pieces is that the graphics were first printed onto the fabric before being shredded and restitched strip by strip as part of a jacket and coat, a crafting and rebuilding process that celebrates each piece's uniqueness. Only available at selected Undercover outposts in Japan on September 23.
