In case you have forgotten, diamonds are still a girl's best friend. And as for lab-grown diamonds, well, they are inching closer to that BFF status too, just you wait. Helping to make a strong case for the latter is an unlikely ally in Prada. The Italian fashion house's Eternal Gold fine jewellery line is already flying the flag for recycled gold but it's showing that there are levels to its game by introducing lab-grown diamonds into the blueprint. Rather than utilise the many lab-grown diamonds already in circulation, Prada sought out experts in the field to cultivate its own. And by that, we mean giving us diamonds in a triangular shape it calls the Prada-cut. And believe you me, this is arguably more exotic than a trilliant-cut diamond, which is traditionally known as a triangular gemstone cut. The Prada-cut diamond appears just like Prada's signature logo, an inverted triangle that anyone with a smidge of fashion knowledge will recognise (it was first introduced 110 years ago). Expect this diamond to feature in several new variations of recycled gold pieces such as heart- and triangular-shaped earrings, a ring, and on multiple links of a chainlink necklace.
