It became the hero handbag that divided the fashion globe and even some dinnertime convos when Pharrell Williams, Louis Vuitton's menswear chief and self-made style guru, started parading one at Paris Fashion Week over the summer. Shaped under the guidance of one of the most iconic carriers of all time in the Speedy, this was unlike any other Speedys released by the house as it pairs exquisite croco leather with gold and diamond-set hardware. And if you're wondering what's wrong with this blueprint? Well, nothing at all. And fair play to Williams on his guerilla-style flex and discreet nod to the name of the late Virgil Abloh's creative think tank, Canary Yellow. But why the average folk started to get mad is because this so-called Millionaire Speedy isn't 't just carrying around a cute and harmless moniker like 50 Cent. Millionaire is the type of financial status one needs to go for broke on this purchase as Louis Vuitton has slapped a seven-figure price tag on it as a hands-off warning to pretenders. But for those who have the spare change to add this to cart after a New Year windfall, Louis Vuitton has unveiled that these made-to-order Speedys will also come in additional colourways, just in case canary yellow croco isn't your vibe.
